Yogi Cabinet approves Ganga Expressway extension to Haridwar, Jhansi Link Expressway worth Rs 7,968.30 crore and a Rs 272.25 crore Sultanpur cluster.
The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has approved several major proposals aimed at strengthening infrastructure, connectivity, industrial development and investment across the state. The Yogi Cabinet big decisions include extending the Ganga Expressway up to Haridwar and approving the Jhansi Link Expressway at an estimated cost of Rs 7,968.30 crore.
The Cabinet has also cleared the development of an Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Cluster (IMLC) in Sultanpur under the Industrial Corridor Scheme. In addition, eight mega-category industrial projects have received approval for the issuance of Letters of Comfort under the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy-2022.
Ganga Expressway to Reach Haridwar
One of the key Yogi Cabinet big decisions is the proposed extension of the Ganga Expressway up to Haridwar. The planned greenfield expressway will be constructed as a six-lane road, with provision for future expansion to eight lanes.
The estimated expenditure for extending the expressway to Haridwar is around Rs 10,761 crore. The financial burden of the project is expected to be borne by the Uttar Pradesh government, with no financial participation from the Centre proposed at this stage.
Following the Cabinet’s approval, preparations including the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and other required formalities will be taken forward.
Jhansi Link Expressway Gets Rs 7,968.30 Crore Approval
The Cabinet has approved the development of the Jhansi Link Expressway at an estimated cost of Rs 7,968.30 crore. The project is expected to strengthen connectivity across the Bundelkhand region and improve access to strategically important areas.
The expressway will provide better connectivity to the Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority (BIDA) region, the Defence Corridor and important locations around Jhansi. Faster and safer road connectivity is expected to support industrial activity and improve movement between Bundelkhand and other parts of Uttar Pradesh and the country.
The state government is expected to bear the entire expenditure related to the construction of the project.

Rs 272.25 Crore Approved for Sultanpur Industrial Cluster
The Yogi Cabinet big decisions also include approval for infrastructure development related to an Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Cluster in Sultanpur.
The cluster will be developed near the Purvanchal Expressway. The approved project cost is Rs 27,225.33 lakh, or approximately Rs 272.25 crore. The state government will bear the expected expenditure, while no financial contribution from the Central government has been proposed.
The project is expected to strengthen Sultanpur’s industrial infrastructure and create new employment opportunities. Once industries become operational, both direct and indirect jobs could be generated for people in the district.
Eight Mega Industrial Projects Get Approval
The Cabinet has also approved the recommendation to issue Letters of Comfort to eight mega-category industrial units under the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy-2022.
The proposals include an investment of Rs 605.37 crore by Surya Global Super Flaxfilms Pvt Ltd in Gautam Buddh Nagar, Rs 297.30 crore by Shalvis Specialities Ltd in Hamirpur and Rs 225 crore by Sound Castings Pvt Ltd in Hathras.
Other approved proposals include Rs 436.12 crore by Vrindavan Bottlers Pvt Ltd in Barabanki, Rs 294.72 crore by Zuari Envien Bioenergy Pvt Ltd in Lakhimpur Kheri, Rs 315 crore by Paswara Papers Ltd in Hathras, Rs 363.94 crore by CRD Foods and Beverages Ltd in Mathura and Rs 363.52 crore by Mount Everest Breweries Ltd in Unnao.
These proposals were considered by the High-Level Empowered Committee (HLEC) during its meeting held on May 4, 2026, following which the committee recommended Cabinet approval.
Better Connectivity Expected to Boost Investment
The Yogi Cabinet big decisions are expected to have an impact beyond road infrastructure. Improved connectivity through new expressway projects could make industrial locations more accessible and support the movement of goods and people.
