Yudh Nasha Mukti campaign training held in Phillaur with 700 participants to strengthen Punjab’s anti-drug efforts and village-level outreach.
A state-level training programme under the Yudh Nasha Mukti campaign was organised at the Police Training Centre in Phillaur, Punjab, with the aim of strengthening the state’s ongoing fight against drug abuse. Around 700 participants attended the programme, including nearly 500 guest speakers and campaign coordinators from different levels.
Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora attended the training programme as the chief guest. Addressing the participants, he called upon campaign representatives and guest speakers to intensify efforts against drugs at the grassroots level and ensure that the anti-drug campaign reaches communities across Punjab.
Training Focused on Village and Ward-Level Outreach
The training programme was primarily organised to prepare participants for a major series of public meetings scheduled to begin on September 20. These meetings will be conducted across more than 15,000 villages and wards in Punjab.
During the meetings, the public will be informed about the progress achieved under the Yudh Nasha Mukti campaign, including action against drug traffickers, arrests made by enforcement agencies and efforts to connect people affected by drug addiction with de-addiction centres.
Officials and campaign representatives will also discuss various initiatives undertaken to combat drug abuse. The meetings will provide an opportunity to highlight challenges encountered during the campaign and explain the strategy for strengthening anti-drug efforts in the coming months.
Halqa-Level Preparation Meetings From September 14
Before the village and ward-level meetings begin, preparation meetings will be held at the Halqa level from September 14 to 17. These meetings will be chaired by the respective MLA and Halqa In-charge.
Representatives from the police and civil administration, members of the concerned Halqa teams, as well as VDC Conveners and Acting Presidents from villages and wards, will participate in these preparatory meetings.
The purpose will be to finalise coordination, responsibilities and the detailed framework for the meetings beginning September 20. Participants at the Phillaur training programme were given detailed instructions regarding both stages of the outreach programme.
Focus on Making Punjab Drug-Free
The training also emphasised the importance of coordinated action among campaign representatives, administrative officials and local-level teams. Participants were briefed on how to communicate the campaign’s achievements and challenges effectively with residents.
At the conclusion of the programme, participants pledged to take the Yudh Nasha Mukti campaign to every village and ward and perform their responsibilities with seriousness and dedication.
The state-level training is expected to provide further momentum to the Yudh Nasha Mukti campaign, particularly through its extensive village- and ward-level outreach. The initiative aims to strengthen public participation and make the fight against drug abuse more effective across Punjab.
