Speaking candidly in an interview with India Today, Tripathi shared, “Yes, the bank balance has definitely improved,” adding with a smile, “I was just kidding—but it has happened.”
The actor also reflected on his personal growth over the years, noting a shift from being a motivational speaker to a “motivational seeker.” “I listen more now. I feel like I’ve given enough gyaan (knowledge). Now, it’s time to receive,” he said, explaining that this change has made him quieter and less inclined to give interviews.
Criminal Justice, now in its fourth season, continues to captivate audiences with gripping courtroom drama and Pankaj Tripathi’s beloved character Madhav Mishra. However, the actor admitted that no one anticipated the series’ long-running success when it began. “We didn’t expect it to become this big,” he said, recalling the strong writing team led by Sriram Raghavan and talented co-stars like Jackie Shroff and Vikrant Massey.
Pankaj Tripathi also humorously noted his extensive work in sequels and franchises, including three seasons of Mirzapur, four of Criminal Justice, three parts of Fukrey, and two installments of Stree, highlighting his steady presence in popular Indian entertainment.
On the business side of the industry, Tripathi offered a blunt observation: “Our industry is like a milking cow. As long as it keeps giving milk, we keep milking.” He explained that the continuation of shows depends on audience engagement and platform decisions, emphasizing the relentless nature of content production.
