After clinching victories in the first two T20Is, the Indian women’s cricket team will aim to wrap up the five-match series when they face England women in the third T20I on Friday at Kennington Oval, London. India got off to a strong start in the opening match with a dominant 97-run win, highlighted by Smriti Mandhana’s maiden T20I century.
In the second match, India secured another comfortable win, powered by half-centuries from Jemimah Rodrigues and Amanjot Kaur. Debutant Shree Charani has emerged as the leading wicket-taker of the series so far, taking six wickets, including a four-wicket haul.
England, on the other hand, suffered a setback as skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt has been ruled out of the third T20I due to a left groin injury. Tammy Beaumont will lead the team in her absence.
According to a statement by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), further participation by Sciver-Brunt in the series will depend on her scan results. Maia Bouchier has been added to the squad as backup.
