RAJASTHAN NEWS : The ongoing ‘Rasta Kholo Abhiyan’ in Jaipur district under the guidelines of Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma has now become a big relief for the villagers and farmers. In just eight months, 1,310 roads that were closed for years have been reopened across the district, making it easier for lakhs of villagers to access fields and villages. The campaign is being regularly monitored by District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni himself, which has ensured its effective and speedy implementation.
Fagi area played a leading role in the Rasta Kholo campaign, the highest number of 118 roads have been opened in Fagi tehsil, while 96 roads have been reopened in Maujmabad to provide relief to the villagers.
The 50-year-old road in Ladana village has been cleared after the villagers submitted a memorandum at the Antyodaya Sambal Shivir in Ladana village of Fagi, which has been blocked for decades, the administration cleared the road in just 3 days. Not only the road was cleared but the construction of CC road and drain was also done, due to which this 4 feet narrow lane has now turned into a 12 feet wide easy road.
ADM Devendra Kumar Jain, the nodal officer of the campaign, said that at least three routes are being opened weekly in every tehsil under the leadership of Dr. Soni. So far, hundreds of routes in several tehsils of the district have been reopened through consensus and understanding.
After the opening of the road, Dr. Soni has directed the officials to get the gravel and CC roads constructed at the earliest where the roads have been opened. In compliance with these instructions, construction work has also started at many places.
The resolution of the cases pending in the court where the suits are pending in the court regarding the routes, the decision will be as per the order of the court.
Why was the campaign needed?
A large number of complaints were received in the public hearing regarding encroachments on the roads in the villages. At the same time, the number of pending litigations in the courts on the issue of roads was also increasing continuously, which was not only causing loss of time and money to the common people but also affecting the law and order. To solve all these problems, the administration started the ‘Rasta Kholo Abhiyan’, which has now become an effective medium of public welfare.
