On July 10 around 2:00 a.m. local time, nine shots were fired at Kap’s Cafe located in the 8400 block of 120th Street in Surrey.

The alleged shooter, Harjit Singh, is reportedly affiliated with the banned group Babbar Khalsa. He is said to have carried out the attack in response to Kapil Sharma’s alleged comments on Nihang Sikh attire.

Following the incident, Mumbai police visited Kapil Sharma’s residence in Oshiwara, leading to tightened security outside his home.
