MP NEWS : To celebrate Independence Day on 15 August 2025 with joy and dignity across the state, Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain held a high-level meeting with senior officials of various departments at Mantralaya today to review the necessary preparations. He directed all departments to ensure timely and comprehensive arrangements for the smooth conduct of the celebrations. The main state-level function will be organized at Lal Parade Ground, where CM Mohan Yadav will hoist the national flag. The event will be broadcast live. The Departments of Culture, Public Relations, and Public Works have been entrusted with making the necessary arrangements for the programme.
Arrangements for the programme
The Divisional Commissioner, Bhopal, and the Director General of Police will oversee the complete arrangements for the state-level function. The responsibility for printing and distributing invitation cards to dignitaries has been assigned to the Divisional Commissioner, Bhopal. The Department of Public Relations will ensure the live broadcast of the event on Doordarshan and Akashvani, as well as coordinate national-level coverage from Delhi. The Bhopal Municipal Corporation will be responsible for providing essential civic arrangements at the venue, including cleanliness, drinking water, drainage, barricading, and sanitation facilities, as per the event’s requirements. All public buildings and monuments of national importance will be illuminated at night on 14th and 15th August 2025.
Invited Guests
Freedom fighters, families of soldiers martyred in the Kargil War, and Loktantra Senanis from the state will be respectfully invited to attend the Independence Day function. Veteran freedom fighters will be specially honoured at their residences with a shawl and shriphal by the District Collector or a designated representative.
Flag hoisting and rendition of the National Anthem at government buildings
Flag hoisting and national anthem will be organised by the head of the department/head of the office in the presence of the officers and employees of the department in all government buildings. At the district level, the national flag will be hoisted by the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, ministers, or the District Collector, as applicable. A district-wise list of dignitaries responsible for flag hoisting will be issued by the General Administration Department.
Director General of Police Shri Kailash Makwana, Additional Chief Secretary Shri J.N. Kansotia, Smt. Rashmi Arun Shami, Principal Secretary, Shri Sheoshekhar Shukla, Division Commissioner, Collector and Police Commissioner were present in the meeting. Other officers joined through video conferencing.
