But these aren’t your typical coding jobs. Meta is seeking people who can do more than write lines of code. Contractors need to be fluent in the target language and have at least six years of experience in storytelling, character creation, and prompt engineering. The goal? To create AI personalities that feel authentic and culturally relevant across Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp.
These bots are part of Zuckerberg’s bigger vision of weaving AI companions into everyday life. In a podcast earlier this year, he suggested that over time, society will develop the language to explain why having these AI friends could be valuable — hinting at a future where AI complements real-world social connections.
