‘You’re Not in Charge’: Charlie Kirk’s Taylor Swift Comments Trigger Outrage
Conservative activist and commentator Charlie Kirk is once again making headlines, this time posthumously, after resurfaced remarks about pop star Taylor Swift have sparked controversy. Kirk, who passed away on September 10, 2025, at Utah Valley University, had previously commented on Swift’s engagement to Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce during his show, The Charlie Kirk Show on Real America’s Voice, on August 26, 2025.

Instead of offering congratulations, Charlie Kirk instructed Swift to “reject feminism” and “submit to your husband, Taylor. You’re not in charge,” comments that have drawn widespread criticism online.
In his show, Kirk mocked the singer for focusing on her career before marriage, stating she should “have more children than houses” and suggesting that marrying Kelce might “de-radicalize” her. He further argued that Swift was setting a poor example for young women by waiting until her mid-30s to settle down.
The Independent reported that Charlie Kirk went as far as comparing Swift to a “cat lady” and speculated that her engagement could nudge her toward conservative politics.
These remarks, initially controversial, have resurfaced following Kirk’s untimely death, reigniting debates about his views on feminism, marriage, and celebrity culture. Social media users and commentators have criticized Kirk for his remarks, labeling them as outdated and misogynistic.
