PM Modi Targets Congress Over Article 370 and Kashmir Issue
In his address, PM Modi strongly criticized the Congress Party and former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru for their handling of Jammu and Kashmir after Independence. He reiterated that Sardar Patel had envisioned the complete integration of Kashmir with India, but political interference prevented it.
“Sardar Patel wanted the entire Jammu and Kashmir to be an integral part of India, but his vision was obstructed. Congress’s mistakes divided Kashmir with a separate constitution and flag. The nation suffered for decades because of these blunders,” PM Modi said.
He further added that Congress’s weak approach allowed a part of Kashmir to fall into Pakistan’s illegal occupation, fueling terrorism and unrest. “While Patel united 550 princely states, one state became the cause of pain for generations due to Congress’s missteps,” he stated.
Strong Stand Against Naxalism and Illegal Infiltration
PM Modi also reaffirmed his government’s commitment to eliminate Naxalism and Maoist terrorism from the country. Highlighting the threats posed by illegal infiltrators, he said that the government has taken a strong and decisive stance to protect the nation’s integrity.
“For decades, previous governments ignored the problem of illegal infiltration. They compromised national security for vote-bank politics. But today, the country has adopted a decisive approach to safeguard its unity,” the Prime Minister said.
He emphasized that the present government is following the path of national integrity and self-reliance laid down by Sardar Patel, ensuring that no internal or external force weakens India’s sovereignty.
Infrastructure, Development, and the Spirit of Unity
Concluding his address, PM Modi said that India’s ongoing infrastructure revolution — from highways to railways — reflects the same spirit of unity that Sardar Patel envisioned.
“The development of Vande Bharat and Namo Bharat trains, record expansion of highways, and airports in smaller cities are connecting the nation like never before. This modern infrastructure is bridging distances from east to west, north to south — just as Patel once united India politically,” he said.
