Dehradun Cabinet approves Neo Metro project, women worker night shift safety, new assistant prosecutor posts, and key urban development initiatives under CM Pushkar Singh Dhami.
In a significant development, the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in Dehradun approved several crucial decisions impacting governance, infrastructure, and labor policies in the state. Among the key resolutions was the Cabinet’s approval for the Neo Metro project in Dehradun, aimed at improving urban connectivity and public transport efficiency.
The meeting saw a total of ten proposals being discussed. The Environment Ministry’s report on environmental protection was accepted and placed before the Assembly. In addition, the Cabinet sanctioned the creation of new positions in the Prosecution Department, including 46 additional Assistant Public Prosecutor posts, to strengthen law enforcement and legal administration.
The Energy Department’s annual report for 2022-23 was also presented during the session. Addressing labor concerns, the Cabinet allowed women workers to work between 9 PM and 6 AM with proper written consent and mandatory safety measures in place, a decision implemented under the state’s Labor Department regulations.

Furthermore, amendments were approved for three clauses of the Shops and Establishments Ordinance. The changes will mainly apply to larger establishments, while small businesses remain unaffected. The Education Department received approval for a re-evaluation of Udairaj Inter College in Kashipur and other related cases, including matters concerning revised pay scales and additional salary increments.
The Housing and Urban Development Ministry also provided recommendations which were incorporated into the Cabinet’s decisions. These resolutions reflect the state government’s commitment to promoting urban infrastructure, ensuring labor safety, and improving governance mechanisms across Uttarakhand.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami emphasized that these decisions aim to foster sustainable urban development, support workforce welfare, and enhance transparency and accountability in administration.
