Gandhinagar, Gujarat – The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) team, led by Central Zone Executive President Dr. Jewel Vasra, State Chief Spokesperson Dr. Karan Barot, along with Jitubhai Upadhyay and Hardikbhai Talati, visited Gandhinagar Civil Hospital to meet patients affected by a typhoid outbreak caused by contaminated drinking water. Over 100 children and several other residents have been admitted due to the outbreak.
Dr. Karan Barot emphasized that the issue is not just a pipeline leakage, but a systemic failure of the government. He said, “Despite repeated complaints, no proper solution has been provided, and ultimately, 100 children along with other local residents have suffered due to government negligence.”

He further added, “Families from sectors 24, 27, and surrounding areas have been forced to leave work to care for their hospitalized children. This is not just a pipeline leakage; the government’s entire system has failed.”
Dr. Barot also demanded strict action against the agency responsible for using substandard pipes. He questioned, “If such a situation exists in Gandhinagar, the state capital, it raises serious concerns about government projects across Gujarat.”
The AAP team reassured the affected families and urged immediate accountability from the authorities. Dr. Barot highlighted that while medical staff are providing proper treatment, the responsible officials must face consequences. He added that the corruption suspected in pipeline installation and poor monitoring has directly endangered children and families.
The AAP reiterated its demand for a thorough investigation into the agency responsible for the substandard pipelines and for strict action against those responsible for this public health crisis.
