AAP leader Manoj Sorathia alleges attack on Haresh Sawaliya at peanut procurement centers in Junagadh, false 307 charges filed by BJP-backed officials, exposes misuse of police power in Gujarat.
In a press conference held in Junagadh, AAP State Organization Secretary Manoj Sorathia and Saurashtra Zone Organization Minister Raju Borkhataria highlighted a serious incident involving AAP district president Haresh Sawaliya. According to Sorathia, Sawaliya visited peanut procurement centers following complaints of irregularities in support price procurement. However, he was allegedly attacked, and a false atrocity case was filed against him.
Speaking to the media, Manoj Sorathia stated, “Despite being attacked, Haresh Sawaliya was charged under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code, which is extremely serious. Seven to eight prisoners already lodged in jail attacked him, yet the administration targeted him instead of the real culprits. The conspiracy was allegedly orchestrated by BJP leaders in collusion with the police.”
Sorathia further accused the state government of misusing police powers to intimidate AAP leaders. “The people of Visavadar elected AAP to fight against the tyranny of BJP after 30 years of their rule in Gujarat. Our leaders are being deliberately harassed through false FIRs and fabricated charges,” he added.

He explained that the person who filed the complaint against Haresh Sawaliya is a notorious criminal currently in jail for violent crimes, including robbery and attacking police officers. “This individual, under instructions from BJP leaders, collaborated with police to carry out this malicious plan. The full truth will come out in court,” Sorathia emphasized.
Highlighting the broader political context, Sorathia said, “This attack is not an isolated incident. It aims to demoralize AAP leaders and deter them from fighting for the public. In Haddad, some of our activists remain in jail even today, and in Surat, another worker was falsely implicated by the police. Across Gujarat, BJP is misusing state machinery to suppress the voice of those who challenge them.”
Manoj Sorathia assured the public that AAP will continue to resist such attacks and fight for justice. “We trust the judiciary, and pending cases will reveal the truth. Those abusing power under political instructions should realize that this will not continue indefinitely. The time for reckoning is coming,” he said.
He urged the citizens of Gujarat to remain vigilant, stating, “BJP is targeting innocent people fighting for public welfare. With the support of the people, AAP will continue to stand strong and uphold the rights of the common man.”
