NEW DELHI, Jan 21, 2026 — The Theatre-in-Education (T.I.E.) Company of the National School of Drama (NSD) successfully concluded its landmark festival, KALRAV 2026, on January 18 at the Abhimanch Auditorium. The event marked a historic milestone for the institution, featuring its largest-ever cohort of over 400 students who performed 16 original plays, demonstrating the transformative power of theatre in youth education.
The festival serves as the grand culmination of the Sunday Club, a flagship initiative of the NSD T.I.E. Company. This year’s participants, ranging in age from 8 to 19, showcased months of training in discipline, creative expression, and social awareness. Under the Ministry of Culture, the event reaffirmed NSD’s enduring commitment to theatre-based learning as a tool for social integration.
The opening ceremony was graced by Shri Chittaranjan Tripathy, Director of NSD, alongside Shri Riken Ngomle, Chief of the T.I.E. Company. Their presence provided immense encouragement to the young performers and their mentors.
“The energy and social consciousness displayed by these young actors highlight the vital role theatre plays in shaping the future of our society,” said Shri Chittaranjan Tripathy during the inauguration.
