AAP State President IIsudan Gadhvi condemns atrocities against Shankaracharya Shri Avimukteshwaranandji, calls for unity to protect Hindu faith and traditions.
The State President of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Isudan Gadhvi, has strongly reacted to the alleged atrocities against Shankaracharya Shri Avimukteshwaranandji, calling the incident a severe affront to the Hindu community and the Sanatan Dharma.
Addressing the recent events that took place in Prayagraj during Mouni Amavasya on January 18, 2026, Isudan Gadhvi condemned the actions against the spiritual leader and his disciples. He stated that the police and administrative authorities prevented the Shankaracharya and his disciples from performing ritual baths, stopped their palanquin, and physically assaulted some of his disciples by pulling their hair, deeply hurting the sentiments of Hindus across the nation.

“This attack on Shankaracharya is not just a personal assault but an attack on the sacred values of the Hindu community and Sanatan traditions,” said Isudan Gadhvi . He further criticized the BJP, stating, “BJP has transformed from a political party into a corporate entity that sells certificates, even questioning the faith of spiritual leaders. Who are you to question the religious beliefs of Hindus? Show your proof of nationalism if you dare.”
Isudan Gadhvi also urged other religious and cultural organizations, including the RSS, VHP, and Bajrang Dal, to raise their voices against these atrocities. “If we remain silent today, tomorrow other spiritual leaders may face similar disrespect. This is not just about one Shankaracharya but about the dignity of Hindu faith and traditions for future generations,” he emphasized.
The AAP has reportedly organized protests in several locations in support of Shankaracharya Shri Avimukteshwaranandji, seeking justice and protection for religious leaders from political interference. Isudan Gadhvi’s statement reinforces the party’s stance that attacks on spiritual figures and the Sanatan faith are unacceptable and calls for unified action to safeguard India’s religious heritage.
