The Rajasthan government has announced a major crackdown on drug trafficking networks and illegal activities involving vehicles across the state. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has issued strict directions to intensify legal action against organized drug syndicates operating in the state.
Strong action against drug trafficking networks
Chairing a high-level review meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence, CM Sharma directed officials to dismantle all small and large networks involved in narcotics trade. He emphasized strict enforcement actions including seizure, confiscation, and demolition of illegal properties linked to drug traffickers.
He also instructed authorities to invoke stringent provisions under the PIT-NDPS Act against suspected offenders involved in drug-related crimes.
Enhanced vigilance in border areas
The Chief Minister ordered increased surveillance in border districts to curb smuggling and illegal activities, including drone-based trafficking operations. District collectors and superintendents of police have been directed to maintain strict monitoring and ensure swift coordinated action against suspicious movements.

Statewide anti-drug awareness campaign
CM Sharma highlighted that drug abuse is a major social threat affecting families and communities. He called for a statewide public awareness campaign to combat drug addiction, involving social organizations and encouraging active participation of women.
Strict action on illegal vehicle modifications
The Chief Minister also instructed the police, transport department, and administrative authorities to take joint action against illegal vehicle modifications. He said that criminals often use modified vehicles to evade law enforcement, posing a serious threat to road safety.
Special attention will be given to vehicles with tinted black films beyond permissible limits, and strict enforcement measures will be implemented across the state.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary (CM Office) Akhil Arora, and Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Bhaskar A. Sawant, along with other senior officials.
