Haryana to install solar panels on government hospitals and medical colleges to promote green energy and reduce electricity costs across the state.

In a significant step towards promoting clean energy and reducing electricity expenditure, the Haryana government has announced that solar panels will be installed on the rooftops of all government hospitals and medical colleges across the state.

The initiative aims to make these healthcare institutions energy self-reliant by meeting their electricity requirements through solar power systems installed on their premises. The generated solar energy will be connected to the power grid through a net metering system, enabling surplus electricity to be exported to the grid.

Officials stated that this move will not only ensure efficient use of renewable energy but will also help reduce operational electricity costs in government health institutions. The savings generated from reduced power bills are expected to be redirected towards improving healthcare infrastructure and patient services.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said the initiative represents a strong commitment towards energy conservation, environmental protection, and fiscal efficiency in government institutions. He emphasized that the state government is focused on expanding green energy adoption across all public sector establishments.

“This initiative will prove to be an important step in the direction of energy conservation, environmental protection, and reducing electricity expenses of government institutions,” said Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.

The project is expected to significantly contribute to Haryana’s renewable energy goals while also reducing the carbon footprint of major public healthcare facilities.
