CM Nayab Singh Saini urged youth to promote tree plantation, water conservation, cleanliness and a drug-free Haryana during a programme in Pinjore.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini called upon the state’s youth to become active participants in environmental conservation, social responsibility and nation building while addressing members of the Youth Welfare Committee and farmers during a tree plantation programme in Pinjore.

Participating as the chief guest, the Chief Minister encouraged young people to take a collective pledge for tree plantation, water conservation, cleanliness, a drug-free Haryana and service to the nation. He said that the participation of youth is essential to building a greener, healthier and more sustainable future for the state.

Youth Power at the Centre of Development

Addressing the gathering, CM Nayab Singh Saini described the event as a unique convergence of youth empowerment, environmental protection and nation building.

He said Haryana has already constituted Youth Committees in all 21 government universities to encourage students to actively participate in developmental and social initiatives.

According to the Chief Minister, 210 youth representatives from these universities attended the programme, reflecting the growing involvement of young citizens in environmental and community-driven campaigns.

Statewide Environmental Campaigns Underway

The Chief Minister highlighted several initiatives being implemented by the Haryana Government to strengthen environmental sustainability across the state.

These include:

• Har Gaon Pedon Ki Chhaon
• Har Ghar Hariyali
• Paudhgiri Campaign
• Oxygen City
• Nagar Van
• Herbal Park initiatives

He said these programmes aim to increase green cover, promote ecological awareness and encourage citizens to adopt environmentally responsible practices.

Focus on Water Conservation and Natural Farming

CM Saini also underlined the government’s commitment to water conservation and natural farming, stating that sustainable use of natural resources is crucial for Haryana’s long-term agricultural and environmental development.

He urged farmers and youth to work together in preserving water resources while adopting eco-friendly farming practices.

Ban on Single-Use Plastic

The Chief Minister said Haryana has taken firm steps to reduce plastic pollution by imposing a ban on 19 single-use plastic items. He appealed to citizens to support the campaign by choosing environmentally friendly alternatives and contributing to a cleaner state.

Call for Collective Responsibility

Concluding his address, Nayab Singh Saini said environmental protection is a shared responsibility that requires public participation. He urged young people to become ambassadors of change by promoting tree plantation, cleanliness, water conservation and awareness against drug abuse in their communities.

He expressed confidence that Haryana’s youth would play a leading role in creating a greener, cleaner and more prosperous future for the state.
