Actor Gauahar Khan has strongly criticised television personality Nikhil Chinapa after he made a comment referencing menopause while responding to her criticism of his gameplay on the reality show Alliance. Calling the remark “ignorant,” “insensitive,” and “disgusting,” Gauahar said such comments undermine women’s opinions and reflect a lack of awareness about an important health issue.

Gauahar Reacts to Viral Interview

The controversy began after Nikhil Chinapa, during a post-eviction interview, responded to Gauahar Khan’s earlier criticism of his role in Alliance. While addressing her comments, he suggested that fellow contestant Mini Mathur, who has publicly spoken about menopause awareness, might understand Gauahar’s perspective because she “deals with menopause and perimenopause.”

The statement quickly gained attention online, prompting Gauahar to respond through a series of videos on Instagram.

‘This Is Not a Joke,’ Says Gauahar

Gauahar said she was disappointed that someone with experience and influence would make such a casual remark about menopause.

According to her, menopause and perimenopause are serious phases in a woman’s life and should never be used to dismiss or question a woman’s opinion.

She stressed that her criticism of Nikhil had been limited to his gameplay on the show and was never intended as a personal attack.

Actor Clarifies Her Health

Addressing assumptions made in the interview, Gauahar pointed out that she had given birth to her child just nine months ago, making it clear that she is not currently experiencing menopause or perimenopause.

She added that even if she were, it would not make her opinions any less valid.

The actor urged people to educate themselves before making comments about women’s health and said using menopause as a comeback was inappropriate.

Calls for Greater Sensitivity

Gauahar further said women should never be made to feel that their thoughts or decisions are influenced solely by hormonal changes.

She emphasised that biological changes should not be used to invalidate a woman’s voice or perspective.

The actor also stated that Nikhil owed an apology to the women in his life, including his family members, for making what she described as an insensitive remark.

Background of the Dispute

Before the controversy, Gauahar had criticised Nikhil Chinapa and Mini Mathur over their conduct on Alliance, claiming they were not giving equal opportunities to contestants, including her husband Zaid Darbar.

She had also accused Nikhil of creating misunderstandings between contestants during the game.

Responding to these allegations in an interview, Nikhil made the now-viral menopause remark, which sparked the backlash.

Meanwhile, the competition inside Alliance continues to intensify. Kushal Tandon has become the new Ace in the house, while contestants have been divided into smaller teams for the next stage of the game.
