AAP launches Plan B in Gujarat from September 9 to demand drought declaration, with teams collecting farmer applications across affected villages.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is set to launch its AAP Plan B campaign from September 9 over its demand for an official drought declaration in drought-hit parts of Gujarat. AAP Front Organization State President and Kisan Morcha State President Praveen Ram said the party will begin a village-level campaign to collect applications from farmers.
According to Praveen Ram, several areas of Saurashtra and North Gujarat have received inadequate rainfall, creating serious concerns among farmers. He claimed that despite the situation, the state government has not yet declared drought in the affected areas.
Gram Satyagraha to begin across affected villages
As part of the AAP Plan B, the party will organize a ‘Gram Satyagraha’ in villages located in talukas that meet the rainfall-related criteria identified by the party.
Praveen Ram said the campaign will focus on areas where rainfall has remained below 10 inches and where there has been no continuous rainfall for 28 days. AAP teams will visit villages and collect applications from farmers seeking a drought declaration and relief measures.

The party has planned 108 teams for the campaign. These teams will travel to villages across the identified talukas and gather farmers’ applications.
AAP had earlier organized a five-day protest
Praveen Ram said the latest campaign follows a five-day sit-in protest organized at Khambhalia under the leadership of AAP Gujarat State President and farmer leader Isudan Gadhvi.
According to the party, the protest was held to press the state government to officially recognize the drought-like conditions in affected areas and provide relief to farmers. Following the protest, the party announced its next phase of agitation.
With the AAP Plan B, the party intends to take its campaign directly to villages and involve farmers in the demand for government action.
Farmers to march towards Gandhinagar on October 2
Praveen Ram further said that after applications are collected from farmers, AAP will organize a large march towards Gandhinagar on October 2.
Thousands of farmers are expected to participate in the proposed march, where the party plans to raise the issue of drought relief with the state government. The collected applications will also be presented as part of the campaign.
The party says the objective is to ensure that farmers affected by inadequate rainfall receive appropriate government support.
AAP says agitation will continue until relief is provided
According to Praveen Ram, the AAP Plan B will mark the beginning of a large-scale farmers’ movement across Gujarat. He said the party will continue raising the issue until the government declares drought in eligible areas and announces relief for affected farmers.
He also indicated that the party could announce Plan C in the future if the government does not take action on its demands.
The AAP Plan B campaign is therefore set to begin on September 9, with party teams visiting villages, collecting applications and mobilizing farmers ahead of the proposed October 2 march to Gandhinagar.
AAP leaders have said that the party will continue its efforts to raise farmers’ concerns and demand government intervention in areas facing rainfall shortages.
