Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath spoke about police reforms, law and order, and road safety during an event held at Lok Bhavan in Lucknow on Thursday. He also flagged off 87 modern interceptor vehicles and honoured police personnel for their bravery and service.
The event also featured the launch of former DGP Prakash Singh’s book ‘Sangharsh’. The Chief Minister highlighted Singh’s contribution to police reforms and stressed the importance of technology, training and modern resources in strengthening policing.
‘It Is Easy to Comment While Sitting Behind Closed Doors’
Addressing the gathering, CM Yogi Adityanath said that maintaining a secure environment is essential for the development of society. He remarked that making comments about individuals or systems while sitting in a closed room is easy, but the importance of security becomes clear in real-life situations.
He said that development and economic activities can progress only when people have confidence in law and order. The Chief Minister also referred to the Uttar Pradesh Police theme, ‘Your Safety, Our Commitment.’
Government Highlights Police Reforms
CM Yogi Adityanath said that several steps had been taken to strengthen police reforms in Uttar Pradesh after 2017. He noted that the state currently has seven police commissionerates.
According to the Chief Minister, modern policing requires a combination of ideas, courage and technology. He said the use of advanced equipment and technological resources is helping strengthen the capabilities of the police force.

CM Yogi Adityanath Mentions Prakash Singh’s Contribution
While releasing former DGP Prakash Singh’s book ‘Sangharsh’, the Chief Minister referred to his experiences in police service and his work on police reforms. He said Singh had worked extensively on police reform issues and had also approached the Supreme Court in connection with these matters.
CM Yogi said such books provide insight into the experiences and challenges faced during police service. The event also recognised the bravery and service of police personnel.
CM Yogi’s Claims About Law and Order Before 2017
During his address, CM Yogi Adityanath discussed what he described as challenges to law and order in Uttar Pradesh before 2017. He claimed that several parts of the state faced serious problems related to crime and mafia activities during that period.
He also referred to incidents of communal violence and prolonged curfews in areas including Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Aligarh and Kosi Kalan. These statements were made by the Chief Minister during his address.
Police Training and Infrastructure Also Discussed
The CM Yogi Adityanath also spoke about challenges related to police training and infrastructure. He claimed that the number of police personnel receiving training was previously limited and that adequate facilities were not available in several locations.
According to CM Yogi, the state government has focused on improving these facilities and providing modern resources to the police force since 2017.
87 Interceptor Vehicles Flagged Off
A key highlight of the event was the flagging off of 87 interceptor vehicles equipped with modern technology. These vehicles will be used for road safety measures and monitoring traffic violations.
The Chief Minister emphasised the importance of technology in modern policing and said that road safety, along with law and order, remains an important responsibility of the administration.
