AAP leader Isudan Gadhvi leads a key review meeting in Surat ahead of upcoming municipal elections, targeting corruption, pollution, voter list issues, and BJP governance failures.
As preparations intensify for the upcoming municipal corporation elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) organised a high-level review meeting in Surat under the leadership of Gujarat AAP President Isudan Gadhvi and South Zone President Ram Dhaduk. The meeting focused on election strategy, organisational strength, and key public issues affecting the city and surrounding regions.
Before the meeting began, Isudan Gadhvi along with senior party leaders paid floral tributes and lit lamps at the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, marking a symbolic start to the political deliberations.
Strong Attack on BJP Over Governance Issues
Addressing party workers and leaders, Isudan Gadhvi launched a sharp critique of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), holding it responsible for corruption, deteriorating infrastructure, and rising pollution levels in Surat and across Gujarat. He said that elections are expected within the next two to three months and asserted that AAP will contest them with full strength and preparation.
Gadhvi alleged serious irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list, claiming that nearly 7.37 million voters’ names have been removed from the draft rolls. He stated that AAP teams are conducting constituency-wise investigations and that multiple discrepancies have already surfaced. According to him, several voters have either found their names deleted or altered without justification.

Allegations of Voter List Irregularities
Highlighting what he termed as a “major SIR scam,” Gadhvi cited examples where multiple individuals from different castes and families were shown residing at the same house number in voter records. He questioned the credibility of such entries and said the data is publicly available online and currently under verification by party teams.
To support affected voters, AAP has formed a 20,000-member BLA-2 team across Gujarat. Gadhvi appealed to citizens whose names are missing from the voter list to contact the party’s helpline, assuring assistance in re-registration and corrections.
Concerns Over Roads, Pollution, and Public Health
During his recent three-day tour, Gadhvi said he witnessed severe road conditions and infrastructure issues in Surat, Valsad, Vapi, and Umargam. He blamed decades of BJP rule at municipal, district, state, and central levels for neglecting public welfare while prioritising industrial profits.
Raising alarm over environmental concerns, he warned that unchecked air pollution has reached dangerous levels and could have long-term health consequences, especially for children. He accused BJP leaders of ignoring public health while focusing solely on revenue and political gains.
AAP’s Election Roadmap
Isudan Gadhvi announced that AAP will field strong candidates on all seats in the upcoming municipal corporation, taluka panchayat, and district panchayat elections. The candidate selection process is set to begin within the next 15 days, with dedicated committees and observers to be appointed soon.
He further revealed that over the past two months, the party has conducted more than 10,000 local meetings and village gatherings, along with weekend mega campaigns. Around 1,200 additional public meetings are planned in the coming weeks to strengthen grassroots outreach.
Concluding his address, Gadhvi said the Aam Aadmi Party will enter the election battlefield with people-centric issues, transparency, and development as its core agenda, aiming to provide Gujarat’s citizens with a credible alternative in local governance.
