AAP MP Sanjay Singh slams BJP over Operation Lotus, saying “smear my face with ink if I join BJP.” Read his views on Punjab, UP, and Bengal elections.
In a bold and defiant stand against the current political landscape, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh has delivered a stinging rebuke to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Speaking to reporters in Lucknow, the firebrand leader addressed the ongoing rumors of horse-trading and the controversial “Operation Lotus,” asserting his unwavering loyalty to his party’s principles.
A Vow of Loyalty Amid Political Turmoil
Addressing the speculation surrounding the defection of several AAP members, Sanjay Singh made a sensational statement regarding his own political future. He declared that he would never join the BJP, regardless of the pressure applied.
“I have said this in clear terms: the day I join the Bharatiya Janata Party, I want my party workers and the people of this country to smear my face with black ink,” Sanjay Singh told the media, emphasizing that he would rather die than switch sides.

From “Operation Lotus” to “Operation Peetus”
The AAP leader did not hold back when discussing the political situation in Punjab. Dismissing rumors of Punjab MLAs joining the BJP as “baseless and false,” Sanjay Singh accused the central government of using investigative agencies like the ED and CBI to intimidate elected representatives.
He warned the BJP of a strong counter-response in Punjab:
“The BJP tried to run Operation Lotus on our Rajya Sabha MPs, but we are alert. In Punjab, the response to Operation Lotus will be given through ‘Operation Peetus’ (Operation Beating),” Sanjay Singh stated, signaling a more aggressive stance by AAP against poaching attempts.
Looking Ahead: UP and West Bengal Elections
Beyond Delhi and Punjab, Sanjay Singh shared the party’s strategy for upcoming polls. Regarding Uttar Pradesh, he mentioned that the party is currently prioritizing the local Panchayat elections to build a grassroots foundation for the 2027 Assembly elections.
Turning his attention to the West Bengal Assembly elections, the MP launched a scathing attack on the Prime Minister. He alleged that the PM is planning to use central agencies and security forces to influence the voting process.
“After May 4th, it will be clear whether the BJP’s goons will flee Bengal or continue their attempts to disrupt the democratic process,” Sanjay Singh remarked, reinforcing the party’s support for fair elections.
