Assembly Election Results 2023: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has gained an absolute majority in three states—Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh—in the just finished five state assembly elections 2023. The party ran MPs in these states. Following their meeting with BJP President JP Nadda and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ten of the MPs who won today’s (December 6) assembly elections tendered their resignations.
These MPs are from Madhya Pradesh: Arun Sao and Gomti Sai; Chhattisgarh: Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore; Rajasthan: Diya Kumari and Kirori Lal Meena; and Madhya Pradesh: Narendra Singh Tomar, Prahlad Singh Patel, Rakesh Singh, Uday Pratap, and Riti Pathak.
BJP had given tickets to 21 MPs in the assembly elections.
Assembly Election 2023: In the four state assembly elections—Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana—the BJP had issued MLA tickets to twenty-one Members of Parliament. The MPs who won the assembly elections were now to meet with the high command of the BJP and resign from their seats in parliament. Following their meeting with Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Singh Dhankhar and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, all members of Parliament, including party president JP Nadda, tendered their resignations.
Will these MPs continue to be a member?
Assembly Election 2023: Two MPs, Renuka Singh and Baba Balaknath, have not yet filed their resignations, nevertheless. The market for speculation has heated up since then. Baba Balaknath’s name is being added to the contest for the position of Rajasthan Chief Minister; however, if he hasn’t resigned from his membership in the Parliament, he won’t be able to run. Following his victory as an MLA from Narsinghpur in Madhya Pradesh, Union minister and BJP leader Prahlad Singh Patel declared, “I will resign from the post of cabinet minister soon.”
