ANRF Announces J.C. Bose Grant (JBG) to Support Senior Scientists and Researchers
The Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) has introduced the J.C. Bose Grant (JBG), a new initiative aimed at recognizing and supporting the exceptional contributions of senior Indian scientists and engineers. This grant provides extramural funding to advance research in cutting-edge scientific and technological fields.
As the apex body guiding scientific research in India, ANRF, in line with the National Education Policy (NEP), seeks to foster a strong research and innovation culture by promoting research and development (R&D) and capacity building at all levels.
The J.C. Bose Grant is specifically designed for senior researchers with outstanding achievements, demonstrated through significant publications, patents, technology transfers, awards, and other research milestones. It supports experts across various domains of science and technology, including agriculture, medicine, and the intersection of humanities and social sciences with S&T.
Eligible applicants must be active senior Indian scientists or researchers holding at least a Professor-level position or its equivalent at an Indian institution or university.
The grant offers Rs. 25 lakh annually for a period of five years, along with an additional Rs. 1 lakh per year as overhead support to the host institution. If the Principal Investigator (PI) retires during the grant period, the project may continue with the institution’s consent. The grant can be availed until the age of 68.
