Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal has criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement to establish fast-track courts for paper leak cases, saying the decision does not address the key concerns raised by students protesting over alleged examination irregularities.
In a post on social media platform X, Kejriwal questioned why the Centre had not acted on the demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, despite widespread protests over alleged paper leaks.
Arvind Kejriwal Questions Government’s Response
Reacting to the Prime Minister’s announcement, Kejriwal said students had been demanding accountability and structural reforms in the examination system rather than only the creation of fast-track courts.
He argued that India already has fast-track courts for several categories of cases and claimed that the government’s latest announcement does not directly address the larger concerns regarding examination transparency and student confidence.
Arvind Kejriwal also alleged that the Centre was attempting to protect the Education Minister instead of responding to the demands raised by protesting students.

Claims Students Faced Police Action During Protest
The AAP leader alleged that students participating in demonstrations over the paper leak issue were subjected to police action, including lathi-charge and tear gas. According to Arvind Kejriwal, several protesters sustained injuries during the demonstrations.
He said he visited Jantar Mantar and met injured students, expressing concern over their condition. Arvind Kejriwal also questioned why the Prime Minister had not publicly commented on the injuries sustained by the protesters.
Calls for Long-Term Examination Reforms
Arvind Kejriwal claimed that paper leak incidents have repeatedly affected competitive examinations and urged the government to introduce stronger safeguards to restore trust in the education system.
According to him, students are seeking meaningful reforms that ensure fair and transparent examinations in the future, along with accountability for those responsible for alleged lapses.
PM Modi Announces Fast-Track Courts
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the Centre would establish fast-track courts to ensure speedy trials and strict punishment for those involved in paper leak cases.
The Prime Minister stated that protecting the future of students remains the government’s top priority and directed the concerned authorities to take all necessary steps to implement the decision.
He also asserted that individuals attempting to jeopardise the future of India’s youth would face strict legal consequences.

The latest exchange between the Prime Minister and the AAP chief comes amid continuing political debate over examination security and alleged paper leak incidents. While the government has announced legal measures through fast-track courts, opposition leaders continue to demand broader reforms and greater accountability within the examination system.
