As the CISF steps up security measures, Delhi Metro asks commuters to anticipate delays.

In light of the approaching Republic Day celebrations on January 26, Delhi Metro will intensify security checks for all passengers using the Delhi Metro from January 19–27.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) will increase passenger security checks at all Delhi metro stations from January 19 to January 27 in light of the Republic Day celebration on January 26, according to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. Additionally, it recommended travelers to schedule their trips with the potential for lengthy lines due to the increased security measures in mind.
The press release read, “In view of the enhanced security arrangement ahead of Republic Day on 26th January, the security checks for passengers will be further intensified by CISF across the Metro stations starting from tomorrow i.e., 19th January (Friday) till 27th January.”
According to the news agency PTI, Delhi Police have also stepped up security measures throughout the capital in advance of the opening of the Ram Temple and the Republic Day celebrations that will take place there on January 26.

An official in the police department stated that night patrol personnel have been directed to conduct a comprehensive inspection of guest houses, hotels, and dharamshalas, particularly in the vicinity of railway stations and inter-state bus terminals, in order to monitor visitors to Delhi, as reported by PTI.
The official continued by saying that in order to guarantee safety during the parade on January 26, more than 8,000 police officers have been stationed throughout Delhi.
This month, there will be 11 days of limitations on Delhi’s airspace. The news agency ANI claimed that there will be increased curbs starting on January 19 and lasting till January 25, as well as on January 26 and 29.
On January 19–25, the window for scheduled carriers’ non-scheduled flights to land and take off will be closed from 10 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. The Airports Authority of India has announced that on January 26 and 29, there would be airspace restrictions from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Scheduled flights won’t be impacted, though.
India will commemorate its 75th Republic Day on January 26, 2024, this year. The president of France, Emmanuel Macron, has been invited to attend as the main guest this year.
