Kangana Ranaut’s Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata premieres on ZEE5 on August 14, telling the inspiring story of Cama Hospital workers during 26/11.
Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata is heading to the digital platform this Independence Day. The film will premiere exclusively on ZEE5 on August 14, giving audiences an opportunity to watch its emotional thriller-drama from home.
Directed by Manoj Tapadia, the movie draws inspiration from the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. However, instead of focusing on the attackers or the larger security operation, the story highlights the courage of healthcare workers who continued performing their duties at Mumbai’s Cama and Albless Hospital during the crisis.
Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata OTT Release Date and Platform
For viewers waiting for the digital premiere, the wait is almost over. Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata will begin streaming on ZEE5 from August 14 as part of the platform’s Independence Day programming.
The film’s digital release brings a lesser-known chapter from the 26/11 tragedy to a wider audience. Its central theme revolves around courage, responsibility and compassion during an extraordinarily dangerous situation.
What is Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata About?
Set against the backdrop of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, the film takes audiences inside Cama and Albless Hospital, where medical and support staff continued to care for patients despite the danger surrounding them.
The story features nurses, ward boys, cleaners, security guards and other hospital employees who found themselves facing an unprecedented crisis. Rather than presenting them as conventional heroes, the movie explores how ordinary people responded to extraordinary circumstances.
Their efforts to protect patients and maintain their responsibilities form the emotional core of the story.
Kangana Ranaut on the Film
Kangana Ranaut, who is associated with the project as an actor and producer, has described the film as a story that deserved to be brought into the spotlight.
She has emphasised the importance of highlighting people whose bravery was motivated not by fame or recognition but by their sense of duty. The film attempts to give these healthcare workers the recognition they largely did not receive in the years following the attacks.
The cast also includes Girija Oak and Smita Tambe in important roles.

Director Manoj Tapadia’s Take on the Story
Director and writer Manoj Tapadia has approached the 26/11 tragedy from a different angle. Instead of concentrating primarily on the broader events of the attacks, the narrative explores what happened within the hospital and how its staff responded to the unfolding danger.
This perspective allows the film to focus on human courage, compassion and resilience while revisiting one of the darkest episodes in recent Indian history.
ZEE5’s Independence Day Line-Up
The digital premiere of Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata has been included in ZEE5’s Independence Day slate. The platform has positioned the film as a story that celebrates courage and the spirit of selflessness.
By bringing the film to streaming audiences on August 14, ZEE5 is giving viewers an opportunity to discover the stories of hospital workers who continued helping others when their own lives were at risk.
Why Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata Is Important
The 26/11 Mumbai attacks have been portrayed and discussed through several perspectives over the years. Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata attempts to shift the spotlight toward the healthcare professionals and support staff who found themselves on the frontline inside Cama Hospital.
The film aims to remind viewers that courage is not always displayed by people in uniforms or those who make headlines. Sometimes, it comes from ordinary individuals who continue doing their duty despite fear and uncertainty.
With Kangana Ranaut leading the cast and Manoj Tapadia directing the project, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata is expected to offer an emotional and human-focused take on the 26/11 tragedy when it premieres on ZEE5 on August 14.
