CM Pushkar Singh Dhami met Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi. Congratulating the Railway Minister for the successful breakthrough of India’s longest rail tunnel (DevprayagJanasu) under the RishikeshKarnprayag rail line project, the Chief Minister said that it has given a new identity to India’s technological development. He also expressed gratitude on behalf of the people of Uttarakhand for the release of CRS of Roorkee Deoband Railway Line.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami requested the Railway Minister to approve the project by examining the feasibility of a tunnel-based railway line project to connect Dehradun to Saharanpur via Mohand similar to the tunnel system being adopted in the RishikeshKarnprayag rail project. The Chief Minister requested for speedy implementation of Rishikesh-Uttarkashi rail line project, introduction of Vande Bharat train from Tanakpur in Champawat district to New Delhi and extension of Tanakpur-Dehradun train. The Chief Minister also urged the Railway Minister to declare the Tanakpur-Bageshwar rail project as a national project and bear the entire cost of the project.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami also requested to direct the concerned to transfer all the rights of the land of old railway station of Rishikesh to the state government. He said that this land will be used for multipurpose development works in Rishikesh Ganga Corridor like road widening, traffic reinforcement, promotion of spiritual facilities for pilgrims / devotees. Also, the traffic will be made more convenient by converting the railway track of the old railway station into a road.
