Amritsar: Punjab Cabinet Minister Balbir Singh carried out an Amritsar hospital inspection at Sri Amritsar Sahib on Wednesday to review healthcare arrangements and evaluate the functioning of hospitals in the region.
The hospital inspection was aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery systems and ensuring better treatment facilities for patients across government and private hospitals.
Inspection Pushes Private Hospitals to Join Health Scheme
During the Amritsar hospital inspection, the Minister urged private hospitals not included in the state health scheme to enroll themselves in the official network.
He said that expanding the network under the scheme would ensure wider access to treatment and improve healthcare coverage for patients in need.
Highlights Government Payment Assurance
As part of the hospital inspection, Balbir Singh assured that the Mann government will continue to bear the cost of treatment for eligible and needy patients.

He emphasized that financial limitations should not prevent anyone from receiving proper medical care under government-supported health initiatives.

A major focus of the Amritsar hospital inspection was the promotion of the ₹10 lakh health card scheme.
The Minister encouraged citizens to get registered for the health card, stating that it provides significant financial coverage for medical treatment and reduces out-of-pocket expenses for families.
