AAP Gujarat leader Dr Karan Barot criticised the police action on student protesters and called for dialogue, education reforms and democratic values.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Gujarat State Organisation Secretary and State Chief Spokesperson Dr Karan Barot has strongly criticised the police action against students during the recent protest in Delhi, saying that young people demanding improvements in the education system should be heard through democratic dialogue rather than being met with force.
In a video statement, Dr Barot questioned the government’s response to the student demonstrations and said that peaceful demands for education reforms should receive constructive engagement instead of confrontation.
Calls for Democratic Dialogue
According to Dr Karan Barot, students raising concerns about the quality of education and their future should be encouraged to express their views in a democratic manner.
He said that meaningful discussions with students would have been a more appropriate response than police action, adding that dialogue remains the strongest foundation of a healthy democracy.
Questions Use of Force Against Youth
The AAP leader questioned the use of force against young protesters, asking why students demanding a better education system were subjected to such action.
He said the aspirations of the country’s youth should be respected, as they represent the future of the nation. According to him, governments should address legitimate public concerns through communication and policy reforms.
Appeal for Respect Towards Women Students
Dr Barot also expressed concern over reports involving women students during the protest. He said young women who are raising their voices for education and their rights deserve dignity and respect.
He stressed that students participating in democratic protests should be treated with sensitivity and fairness.
Education Reform Should Be a National Priority
The AAP Gujarat leader stated that demanding quality education, transparent examinations and a brighter future for students should not be viewed negatively.
He added that improving the education system and healthcare infrastructure should remain among the highest priorities for any government committed to national development.
Youth Will Continue to Raise Their Voice Democratically
Concluding his statement, Dr Karan Barot said the country’s youth will continue to speak for better education and a stronger future while following democratic values. He emphasised that the objective of students is not confrontation but meaningful reforms that benefit future generations.
