The Governor of Chhattisgarh, Shri Ramen Deka, arrived in Bemetara today on a two-day visit. He gave the message of environmental protection by planting a sapling of Moulshree under the campaign in the name of a tree mother in the Circuit House premises.
Governor Deka held a meeting with the officials of the district administration in the conference room of the Circuit House and took information about the development works. He took detailed information about the schemes being run in Temri, the village adopted by him in Nawagarh Development Block. In the meeting, he informed about the progress of other infrastructure facilities including education, health, drinking water, agriculture, horticulture and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
Giving special emphasis on the promotion of organic farming, the Governor said that the prospects of organic okra cultivation are better in Temri village. He exhorted the farmers to grow organic vegetables in their fields. It was told by the horticulture officer that the environment of village Temri is appropriate for okra production.
He said that it should be ensured that the benefits of government schemes reach every person of the adopted village. He directed the CEO of the Janpad Panchayat to regularly monitor the village development and work in mission mode to develop the village as a model village.
During the meeting, the Governor was apprised of three TB patients in the village to whom he personally announced financial assistance for six months of medication.
In addition, Shri Deka also announced an incentive of Rs. 5.5 thousand each to eight meritorious students.
The Governor met the members of Shriram Weavers Cooperative Society, Devarabija and gave necessary instructions to the Collector to solve their building repairs and other problems. He also met the medal winners of National School Games-2025 and wished them a bright future. At the end, a memento was presented to the Governor.
