Governor Gurmit Singh launches the book “Pushkar Dhami: The Living Warmth of the Himalayas” highlighting Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami’s leadership, achievements, and inspirational journey.
Governor Gurmit Singh on Thursday officially launched the book “Pushkar Dhami: The Living Warmth of the Himalayas”, which highlights the personality, achievements, and leadership journey of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The event was held at Raj Bhavan, Dehradun, with the Governor praising both the CM Pushkar Singh Dhami’s vision and the efforts of young author Sambhavana Pant. He noted that the Dhami-led government has steered Uttarakhand toward unprecedented development.
The book launch was attended by notable dignitaries, including Kalki Peethadhishwar Acharya Pramod Krishnam Maharaj (Sambhal), Swami Chidanand Saraswati Maharaj from Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh, and Bhagat Singh Koshyari, former Governor of Maharashtra and ex-Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. The publication was brought out by Prabhat Publications and Rupa Publications.
Governor Gurmit Singh lauded the author for her work, remarking that daughters are embodiments of divinity, and she had lived up to the meaning of her name through her literary contribution. He emphasized how the book beautifully portrays Dhami’s formative years, influenced by the struggles of the hills, his grandfather’s principles, his mother’s humility, and his father’s discipline and dedication as a soldier.
Highlighting the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s contributions, the Governor said that Dhami has successfully undertaken numerous historical initiatives in Uttarakhand. From disaster management efforts in areas like Silkyara, Joshimath, and Dharali to the organization of national and international events, his leadership has been marked by compassion, decisiveness, and discipline.

During the launch, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami shared reflections from his childhood and the experiences that shaped his leadership. He expressed deep gratitude to his mother for instilling resilience while managing life in the hills as a soldier’s wife. Dhami remarked that although he never envisioned achieving greatness, his inherent drive to serve society guided his path.
Swami Chidanand Saraswati of Parmarth Niketan observed that the CM’s efforts resonate with broader national goals, including promoting unity, cultural heritage, and holistic development for women, youth, and marginalized communities. Acharya Pramod Krishnam Maharaj also praised Dhami for making decisions aligned with societal and national realities.
Author Sambhavana Pant explained that the book encapsulates Dhami’s journey from his early years to his role as the state’s chief executive. It reflects his visionary thinking, humility, dedication, and leadership, along with the family influences that molded him.
The event saw participation from senior officials, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi, Rajya Sabha members Naresh Bansal and Kalpana Saini, MLAs Savita Kapoor and Brijbhushan Gairola, Padma Shri Basanti Bisht, and religious leader Kishan Giri Maharaj of Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple, along with several other prominent dignitaries and citizens.
This launch not only celebrates Dhami’s remarkable journey but also highlights the inspirational story of a leader committed to development, compassion, and integrity in Uttarakhand.
