AAP leaders allege bias in Gujarat boiler blast case, question FIR action and demand fair investigation into Jhagadia GIDC incident.
A fresh political controversy has erupted in Gujarat following allegations made by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Niranjan Vasava regarding the handling of the Metropolitan Company boiler blast incident in the Jhagadia GIDC area of Bharuch district.
The incident, in which reportedly more than three workers lost their lives after a boiler explosion at a local industrial unit, has now escalated into a heated political debate involving allegations of selective FIR registration, police action, and administrative bias.
AAP alleges unfair action against party leaders
According to Niranjan Vasava, AAP leaders had gone to the affected site to support victims’ families and demand justice. He claimed that instead of taking action against the company or those responsible for the incident, police allegedly questioned and detained AAP representatives.
He further alleged that AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava and other party members were called to Jhagadia GIDC police station for questioning and later arrested after appearing before authorities. The leaders, according to him, are still under investigation and have not been released.
Allegations of political interference
AAP has accused rival political figures, including BJP leader Roshan Vasava, of attempting to divert attention from the core issue during a confrontation at the site. Niranjan Vasava alleged that instead of focusing on justice for the victims, the situation was politically escalated, leading to a clash of narratives on social media and ground reports.
The party has also questioned why no FIR has been registered so far against the company management or individuals allegedly responsible for the industrial accident.

Demand for fair investigation
Raising concerns over law enforcement neutrality, Niranjan Vasava urged both the state administration and judiciary to ensure a transparent and impartial investigation.
He stated that democracy can only survive if institutions act without bias and insisted that the case should not be influenced by political pressure. AAP has demanded a fair probe into both the boiler explosion and the subsequent police action against its leaders.
Political tensions escalate in Gujarat
The controversy has added to ongoing political tensions in the region, with AAP alleging misuse of administrative machinery, while the ruling side has not yet issued a detailed response to the latest accusations.
The matter continues to develop as investigations into both the industrial accident and related police proceedings remain underway.
