Harjot Singh Bains extends Mission Clean Punjab Phase 2 till September 12 after strong public response and action on over 5,400 complaints.
Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains addressed a press conference in Chandigarh and shared an update on the ongoing second phase of the ‘Mission Clean Punjab’ campaign. Citing strong public participation, the state-level cleanliness drive has been extended by five more days and will now continue until September 12.
According to Harjot Singh Bains, citizens have actively used the m-Sewa app to report cleanliness-related issues across different areas. The response has helped authorities identify problems and take action on a large number of complaints.
Around 6,500 Complaints Received Through m-Sewa
During the press conference, Harjot Singh Bains said that nearly 6,500 complaints had been received through the m-Sewa app as part of the cleanliness campaign.
More than 5,400 of these complaints have already been acted upon, reflecting the administration’s efforts to respond to issues reported by residents.
The minister highlighted public participation as an important factor behind the campaign’s progress and encouraged citizens to continue reporting sanitation-related problems through the available platform.
Harjot Bains Appeals for Waste Segregation
Harjot Singh Bains also appealed to residents to separate their household waste before handing it over to sanitation workers.
Waste segregation can help improve the collection and management process and make cleanliness efforts more effective at the local level. The minister urged residents to cooperate with sanitation workers and contribute to keeping their surroundings clean.

Mega Cleanliness Drives Planned for Four Saturdays
As part of the next phase of the campaign, Harjot Singh Bains announced that mega cleanliness drives will be organised over the next four Saturdays.
The initiative is aimed at maintaining momentum beyond the current campaign and encouraging greater community involvement in cleanliness activities.
NGOs and Associations Invited to Join Campaign
The minister also called upon NGOs, social organisations and other associations to actively participate in the cleanliness drive.
Harjot Singh Bains emphasised that government efforts can deliver better results when citizens, community groups and voluntary organisations work together. Greater public participation, he said, can help strengthen cleanliness initiatives across Punjab.
Mission Clean Punjab Campaign Extended Till September 12
The second phase of ‘Mission Clean Punjab’ will now continue until September 12 following the five-day extension. The move comes amid what the government describes as strong public support for the campaign.
With thousands of complaints being received and action taken on most of them, the administration is focusing on improving sanitation services while encouraging citizens to play a more active role.
The upcoming weekend cleanliness drives and participation from NGOs and local associations are expected to further strengthen the campaign’s reach across Punjab.
