CM Bhajanlal Sharma issues an urgent Rajasthan heatwave advisory. Learn key tips for protection, peak hour safety, and emergency contacts as temperatures soar.
As mercury levels soar across Rajasthan, the state government has entered a high-alert mode. With temperatures crossing record highs in several districts, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has made a fervent appeal to the citizens to prioritize heatwave protection. Emphasizing the severity of the current weather conditions, the CM urged the public to strictly follow the state’s health advisory to prevent heat-related illnesses and fatalities.
Avoid Outdoor Activities During Peak Hours
The Chief Minister highlighted that the most effective way to ensure heatwave protection is to limit sun exposure during the most intense part of the day. He advised citizens to avoid going outdoors unnecessarily between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM, when the sun’s rays are harshest and the risk of heatstroke is at its peak. This precaution is particularly vital for vulnerable groups, including children, the elderly, and pregnant women.
Recognizing Symptoms of Heatstroke
Timely intervention is critical during extreme heat. For effective heatwave protection, the CM urged people to stay vigilant for symptoms such as high fever, dizziness, nausea, or fainting. He stressed that these signs should not be ignored. In case of a medical emergency, citizens are encouraged to immediately contact the toll-free numbers 108 or 112 to access swift medical assistance.

Guidelines for Farmers and Laborers
Understanding that many livelihoods depend on outdoor work, CM Sharma provided specific directions for laborers, farmers, and cattle herders. For their heatwave protection, he recommended:
Drinking ample amounts of water throughout the day.
Keeping the head covered with a cotton cloth or hat.
Taking frequent breaks in shaded areas.
Furthermore, he called upon employers to ensure a safe working environment by providing clean drinking water and shaded rest zones at construction sites and factories.
Compassion for Animals and Birds
Extending his appeal beyond human safety, the Chief Minister requested the public to show sensitivity toward animals and birds. He encouraged residents to place bowls of water and food on rooftops and outside their homes, noting that stray animals are equally susceptible to the scorching heat and require collective support for heatwave protection.
