The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the India A squad for the upcoming warm-up games ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026. With the main tournament set to begin on February 7, 2026, these preparatory matches will provide crucial practice opportunities for emerging talent and senior players gearing up for the global event.
India A Squad and Leadership
India A will be led by Ayush Badoni, who will captain a 15-member squad comprising a balanced mix of experienced performers and promising youngsters. Key names in the squad include Naman Dhir, Priyansh Arya, Tilak Varma, Riyan Parag, and Narayan Jagadeesan, among others. Notably, wicketkeeping duties will be shared between Narayan Jagadeesan and Urvil Patel.
Warm-Up Fixtures Against USA and Namibia
The first warm-up match will see India A face the USA on February 2 at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. This will be an important match to test combinations and strategies before the T20 World Cup. Following this, India A will take on Namibia on February 6 at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground 1 in Bengaluru.
