MSME : New Initiative to Boost MSME Trade and Marketing
In the financial year 2024-25, the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) introduced a sub-scheme under the Central Sector Scheme Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance Program (RAMP). Launched on June 27, 2024, the MSME Trade Enablement and Marketing (MSME TEAM) Initiative aims to promote e-commerce adoption among MSMEs by leveraging Digital Public Infrastructure through ONDC, with a particular focus on supporting micro and small enterprises, especially women entrepreneurs. The scheme has a financial outlay of ₹27.35 crores.
To ensure its effective implementation, the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) has been designated as the implementing agency. The allocated funds are being utilized for various activities and benefits under the scheme. NSIC, in collaboration with the Ministry of MSME, State Governments/UTs, industry associations, and ONDC, is organizing workshops to educate MSMEs on the advantages of e-commerce. The initiative is designed to facilitate their integration into ONDC-compliant Seller Network Participants (SNPs).
This information was presented in the Rajya Sabha by the Minister of State for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, today.
