1563 candidates from NEET UG 2024 had their grace marks revoked, allowing them the option to retake the exam, prompting the center to appeal to the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court granted NTA permission to annul the scorecards of the 1563 candidates who chose to present and hold the retest, which is expected to take place on June 23.
The Supreme Court accepted the Center’s suggestion to allow 1,563 students to retake the exam in order to make up for lost time during the May 5 exam, as it resolved petitions on Thursday that contested the NTA’s award of grace marks in the NEET-UG 2024.
The scorecards of the 1,563 candidates who chose to appear were canceled, and the NTA was given permission by the Supreme Court to administer the retest on June 23. The original scorecards—minus the grace marks—of the individuals who choose not to participate will be taken into consideration.
In order to help with the counseling procedure that will begin on July 6, the NTA told the court that the retest results are probably going to be declared before June 30.
The court published a notice and tagged applications pertaining to purported malpractices in the NEET exam’s administration with an upcoming hearing on July 8. Alakh Pandey, the CEO of Physicswallah, submitted one of the petitions.
