On the auspicious occasion of the Parkash Purab of the Ninth Sovereign, Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji, AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal extended his heartfelt greetings to the global Sangat. Celebrating the birth anniversary of the ‘Shield of Hind’ (Hind Ki Chadar), Kejriwal emphasized that the life of the Great Guru remains an eternal beacon of hope and a masterclass in the protection of human rights.
Honoring the ‘Shield of Hind’
Arvind Kejriwal remarked that the legacy of Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji is unique in the history of the world. While many have stood up for their own beliefs, Guru Sahib made the supreme sacrifice to protect the religious freedom and rights of others, specifically the Kashmiri Pandits.
“Guru Sahib’s teachings are not just for one community but for all of humanity. On this Parkash Purab of Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji, let us pledge to stand against injustice and walk the path of truth,” said Kejriwal in his message.

The AAP leader highlighted that the “Delhi Model” of governance draws inspiration from the Sikh Gurus’ philosophy of Sarbat da Bhala (welfare of all). He noted that celebrating the Parkash Purab of Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji is a reminder to provide selfless service to the poor and marginalized.
Human Rights: Upholding the dignity of every citizen regardless of their faith.
Selfless Service: Ensuring healthcare and education reach the last person in the queue.
Righteousness: Fighting against corruption and tyranny with the same steadfastness shown by Guru Sahib.
A Call for Global Unity
As the nation celebrates the Parkash Purab of Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji, Kejriwal urged the youth to study the history of the Ninth Guru. He stated that the Guru’s message of religious tolerance and peaceful co-existence is the only way to build a progressive and harmonious society in 2026.
