Prime Minister Modi Assam visit has taken a significant turn as he arrived in Guwahati for his two-day tour of Assam. Due to adverse weather conditions, his scheduled visit to Kokrajhar has been cancelled. The Prime Minister will now inaugurate the development projects in Kokrajhar virtually, ensuring that the momentum of governance and infrastructure development continues uninterrupted.
Kokrajhar Tour Cancelled, Virtual Inaugurations Planned
Originally, PM Modi’s included a visit to Kokrajhar. However, officials confirmed that due to unpredictable weather conditions, the tour had to be cancelled for safety reasons. Despite this, the Prime Minister’s commitment to Assam’s development remains strong, with all planned projects now set to be inaugurated virtually.
Massive Development Projects Worth ₹47,600 Crore
During his, the Prime Minister is set to launch projects worth approximately ₹47,600 crore. The ‘Assam Mala 3.0’ initiative will be inaugurated virtually, aiming to construct over 900 kilometers of roads to improve connectivity within Assam and with neighboring states. Additionally, four flyovers and two bridges will be laid in the Bodoland region, boosting regional infrastructure significantly.

Railway, Farmer, and Energy Sector Initiatives
PM Modi’s also focuses on strengthening Assam’s railway infrastructure. He will lay the foundation of a railway workshop at Bashbari and flag off three new trains: the Kamakhya-Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express, Guwahati-New Jalpaiguri Express, and Narangi-Agartala Express. Farmers will benefit from the release of the 22nd installment of the PM-Kisan scheme, covering over 9.3 crore farmers across the country.
In the energy sector, PM Modi will inaugurate the Kopili Hydropower Project and the first phase of the Northeast Gas Grid. Furthermore, Guwahati tea garden workers will receive land pattas, empowering them with property rights and social security.
Additional Projects Across Assam
On Saturday, during his, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation of the Kamakhya Temple ropeway project and inaugurate the PM Ekta Mall in Guwahati. He will then proceed to Silchar, where projects worth around ₹23,550 crore will be launched, further accelerating Assam’s development agenda.
