PM Modi urges an immediate end to Ukraine and Iran conflicts, emphasizing dialogue and diplomacy as the only solution for global peace.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday appealed for an immediate end to the conflicts in Ukraine and the Iran-Israel-US tensions, emphasizing that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only way to resolve disputes. Speaking at a joint press conference with Finnish President Alexander Stubb at Hyderabad House, PM Modi stressed the importance of peaceful negotiations over military confrontation.
During the event, both leaders exchanged agreements at the delegation level, highlighting the growing bilateral ties between India and Finland. Addressing the audience at the Raisina Dialogue 2026, PM Modi said that global conflicts can only be addressed through constructive dialogue and international cooperation.
“No problem can be solved through military conflict,” PM Modi remarked. “Whether it is Ukraine or West Asia, we must support every effort to bring conflicts to a peaceful end.”

The Prime Minister also highlighted the shared commitment of India and Finland towards law, diplomacy, and sustainable development. “A healthy planet is our shared priority,” PM Modi said. “Together with Finland, we will host the Global Circular Economy Forum in India this year, providing new momentum and ideas for our sustainable development initiatives.”
PM Modi pointed out that growing global challenges require reform in international institutions, and countries must work collectively to eliminate terrorism in all its forms. He emphasized that India’s collaboration with Finland spans technology, infrastructure, digital systems, and sustainable development. “The Nokia telecom network has connected millions of Indians, and with Finnish architects, we have built the world’s tallest railway bridge over the Chenab River,” he added.
The joint statements reflected a clear message from India: military action cannot solve global crises, and sustained peace can only be achieved through dialogue, diplomacy, and international cooperation.
