Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomes U.S. President Donald Trump’s 20-point Gaza peace plan aimed at ending the Israel-Hamas conflict with global leaders backing the initiative.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his strong support for the recently announced 20-point peace proposal for Gaza by U.S. President Donald Trump. The plan aims to end the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas militants and calls for the return of all hostages, both living and deceased, within 72 hours of a ceasefire.
Narendra Modi’s Statement Welcomes Sustainable Peace
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, PM Narendra Modi stated, “We welcome President Donald J. Trump’s announcement of a comprehensive plan to end the Gaza conflict. It provides a viable pathway to long term and sustainable peace, security and development for the Palestinian and Israeli people, as also for the larger West Asian region.” He further urged all parties involved to unite behind this initiative to ensure an end to the violence and lasting peace.
Key Features of the Gaza Peace Proposal
The 20-point peace plan, unveiled by President Trump on September 29, 2025, primarily focuses on:
-
Immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hamas militants
-
Safe and prompt return of all hostages within 72 hours after the ceasefire
-
Long-term security arrangements for Israel and Palestinian territories
-
Socio-economic development and stability for Gaza and the broader West Asian region
Strong Global Endorsements for the Plan
The peace proposal received widespread support from world leaders and key nations. The Palestinian government welcomed the initiative and committed to reforms demanded by the United States to help bring peace to the region.
A joint statement from the Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Egypt praised the peace plan and expressed readiness to work collaboratively with the U.S. and all relevant parties to finalize and implement the agreement.
French President Emmanuel Macron also voiced support, emphasizing the need for Israel to engage constructively. “I expect Israel to engage resolutely on this basis. Hamas has no choice but to immediately release all hostages and follow this plan,” Macron said on X.
Similarly, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer welcomed the peace efforts, calling for all sides to cooperate. “We call on all sides to come together and to work with the U.S. Administration to finalize this agreement and bring it into reality. Hamas should now agree to the plan and end the misery, by laying down their arms and releasing all remaining hostages,” Starmer stated.
