Punjab anti-drug campaign review in Sahnewal. Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian urges collective effort to make Punjab drug-free.

Punjab’s ongoing anti-drug campaign received renewed focus as a review and feedback meeting was held in Sahnewal with members of the Village Development Committee (VDC). The meeting aimed to assess ground-level implementation and strengthen community participation in the state’s fight against drug abuse.

Focus on Strengthening Grassroots Implementation

During the meeting, officials and VDC members discussed the progress of the anti-drug drive being carried out across Punjab. The primary objective was to evaluate local efforts and identify ways to further enhance the Anti-Drug Campaign’s effectiveness at the village level.

The discussion highlighted the importance of coordinated action between government bodies and local communities to achieve meaningful results.

Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian Calls for Collective Responsibility

Addressing the gathering, Punjab minister Hardeep Singh Mundian stressed that the fight against drugs cannot be won by the government or police alone. He said it is a shared responsibility of society, involving parents, teachers, panchayats, and social as well as religious organizations.

He urged all stakeholders to work together to keep young people away from substance abuse and guide them toward positive opportunities.

Youth Empowerment Through Education, Sports, and Jobs

The minister further emphasized that the core goal of the Anti-Drug Campaign is to channel youth energy into constructive fields such as education, sports, and employment.

He stated that creating better opportunities for young people is essential for building a healthy, strong, and progressive society.

At the conclusion of the meeting, all VDC members and local representatives reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the anti-drug campaign. They pledged to work together to make Punjab a drug-free state.
