Aamir Khan’s Rare Confession on Why He Avoids Discussing Religion Publicly
Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has opened up about his views on religion, calling it a “dangerous topic” that he chooses not to discuss publicly. Known for his thoughtful insights and selective public appearances, the actor made the rare statement in a recent interview with The Lallantop, while promoting his latest film ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’.

“When I meet people, I don’t see their religion. I just see the person,” Aamir said, emphasizing his belief in human connection beyond religious identity.
The actor, who played a satirical alien confronting religious dogma in the hit film ‘PK’, has historically avoided speaking about religion outside of his films. In this interview, however, he shed some light on his personal beliefs and the conscious decision to steer clear of the subject in public forums.
“Religion is such a dangerous topic that I don’t often speak about it in public,” Aamir explained. “It is also a very personal thing to each and every individual. I respect people from all religions and the way they follow their religious paths.”
Aamir Khan’s remarks come at a time when discussions around faith often spark controversy and public scrutiny. By calling for mutual respect and privacy in matters of belief, the actor once again reinforced his image as one of Bollywood’s most thoughtful voices.
‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, which marks his return to the big screen, continues his tradition of blending entertainment with emotional and social depth — this time, exploring themes of inclusion and childhood struggles.
