Sanjay Singh accuses the BJP of invoking Pakistan and Bangladesh to divert attention from vote-chori allegations and questions over voter deletions.
Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of bringing up Pakistan and Bangladesh to divert public attention from the growing controversy over alleged vote theft, popularly referred to as ‘vote-chori’. His remarks came on Sunday in response to controversial statements attributed to Rajasthan BJP president Madan Rathore.
In a post on social media platform X, Sanjay Singh on vote-chori questioned the BJP’s political messaging and raised several questions about the party’s past dealings with Pakistan and Bangladesh. He argued that instead of addressing concerns over voter deletions and electoral transparency, the BJP was attempting to shift the national conversation towards neighbouring countries.
Sanjay Singh Questions BJP’s References to Pakistan and Bangladesh
In his post on X, Sanjay Singh alleged that whenever the BJP faces political difficulties, it invokes Pakistan and Bangladesh rather than addressing the issues being raised by the public.
He also questioned the BJP’s criticism of Bangladeshis and Pakistan, referring to several past political events involving Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP leadership.
Singh raised questions about the invitation extended to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) to visit Pathankot following the terror attack, Modi’s visit to Pakistan, and his government’s relationship with Bangladesh. These references formed part of his broader argument that the BJP should explain its own past actions before questioning others.
The AAP leader also raised questions about industrialist Gautam Adani’s business activities in Bangladesh and Modi’s statements concerning Bangladesh’s liberation struggle.
His remarks were aimed at challenging what he described as the BJP’s selective approach towards Pakistan and Bangladesh in political debates.
AAP Leader Raises Questions Over Deleted Voter Names
A major part of Sanjay Singh on vote-chori focused on allegations of large-scale voter deletions and the need for clarity regarding electoral rolls.
The AAP MP questioned how many Bangladeshi nationals had been identified among the 13.37 crore votes he claimed were deleted under the direction of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar at the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He also asked how many alleged Bangladeshi infiltrators the Modi government had deported during its 12 years in power.
Singh used these questions to challenge the BJP’s claims concerning illegal immigration and national security. He argued that the government should provide clear answers on these matters instead of using references to neighbouring countries to influence public debate.
The allegations regarding voter deletions and political interference were raised by Singh as part of his criticism of the BJP.
Sanjay Singh Responds to Madan Rathore’s Remarks
Speaking to the media on Sunday, Singh also referred to controversial remarks attributed to Rajasthan BJP president Madan Rathore concerning a hypothetical war between the United States and Pakistan.
According to Singh, Rathore had said that BJP members would wear half-pants, carry sticks and support Pakistan if such a conflict took place. The AAP leader criticised the reported statement and used it to question the BJP’s political position on Pakistan.
Singh further referred to historical events involving the BJP leadership, including the invitation to former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to attend Modi’s swearing-in ceremony and the visit by Pakistani ISI officials to Pathankot after the terror attack.
He argued that the BJP’s past actions should also be considered when its leaders make political statements about Pakistan.

Sheikh Hasina’s Stay in India Also Comes Under Scrutiny
Singh also questioned the BJP’s position on Bangladesh, particularly in relation to former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who has been staying in India since leaving Bangladesh in 2024.
The AAP leader pointed to what he described as a contradiction between the BJP’s public stance on illegal Bangladeshi immigration and its handling of Hasina’s stay in India.
He also recalled Modi’s visit to Bangladesh in 2021, when the country marked the 50th anniversary of its independence. Singh referred to Modi’s remarks about his participation in the movement supporting Bangladesh’s liberation.
Through these examples, the AAP MP sought to challenge the BJP’s criticism of political opponents over their positions on Bangladesh and Pakistan.
Vote-Chori Debate Remains at the Centre of Political Controversy
The latest exchange highlights the continuing political dispute over electoral transparency, voter deletions and allegations of irregularities in the electoral process.
Sanjay Singh on vote-chori maintained that attempts to divert attention from public concerns would not succeed, claiming that people were increasingly aware of the BJP’s political strategy.
The BJP’s references to Pakistan and Bangladesh, Singh argued, should not take precedence over questions concerning electoral rolls and accountability.
His remarks add to the ongoing political confrontation between the AAP and the BJP, with both parties continuing to debate national security, immigration and electoral integrity.
The allegations raised by Singh remain part of the wider political dispute over vote-chori, and the questions concerning voter deletions and the parties’ respective claims continue to be politically contested.
