The record-breaking performance came during the third T20I against Myanmar on Friday, December 26, where Yeshey returned with extraordinary figures of 8/7 in four overs.

At just 22 years old, Sonam Yeshey has now accounted for 12 wickets in four matches of the series, leaving cricket fans around the world in awe. Meanwhile, in women’s cricket, Rohmalia (7/0 for Indonesia vs Mongolia, 2024), Frederique Overdijk (7/3 for the Netherlands vs France), Alison Stocks (7/3 for Argentina vs Peru), and Samanthi Dunukedeniya (7/15 for Cyprus vs Czech Republic) had also reached seven wickets in a T20I match.

Bhutan posted a modest total of 127/9 in 20 overs, thanks to a valiant innings of 50 off 45 balls by Namgang Chejay. Myanmar struggled in response, scoring only 45 runs in 9.2 overs, as Yeshey dismantled their batting lineup. Despite Myanmar’s opening pair adding 21 runs in just 2.1 overs, the young spinner’s spell left them all out in under 10 overs, highlighting his dominance on the field.
