Sony has officially introduced the Sony RX10 V, the latest addition to its popular superzoom compact camera lineup. Arriving nearly nine years after the RX10 IV, the new camera brings notable upgrades in processing power, autofocus performance, video recording capabilities, and overall design while retaining the versatile 24-600mm equivalent zoom lens and 20.1-megapixel 1-inch stacked sensor.
Designed for photographers and content creators who prefer an all-in-one camera without changing lenses, the Sony RX10 V is aimed at travel, wildlife, sports, and event photography.
Sony RX10 V Price and Availability
The Sony RX10 V has been priced at $2,300 in the United States, which translates to approximately Rs 2,19,000 based on current exchange rates. Sony has not yet confirmed the camera’s India launch or local pricing.

Pre-orders for the camera are now open, with shipments expected to begin in August.
Powerful Zoom Lens and Faster Performance
The Sony RX10 V retains the 24-600mm equivalent zoom lens with a physical focal range of 9.1-210mm and an aperture of f/2.4-4.0. The biggest upgrade comes from Sony’s latest image processor, enabling blackout-free continuous shooting at up to 30 frames per second using the electronic shutter, compared to 24fps on the previous generation.
Autofocus has also received a significant boost, featuring 575 phase-detection focus points covering around 70 percent of the sensor. The camera can accurately detect and track humans, animals, birds, insects, and vehicles while maintaining focus even when subjects move unpredictably or change direction.
Enhanced 4K Video Recording for Creators
The Sony RX10 V offers improved video capabilities with support for 4K recording at up to 60fps in 10-bit colour. It supports professional recording formats including All-Intra, XAVC S, and XAVC HS while using the full sensor width to eliminate pixel binning.
Users can also shoot 4K at 120fps with a sensor crop for slow-motion footage, while Full HD recording is available at up to 240fps. Additional video features include S-Log3 support and the ability to store up to 16 LUTs for real-time preview during recording.
Improved Display and Connectivity
Sony has upgraded both the electronic viewfinder and rear display on the Sony RX10 V. The electronic viewfinder now offers a 3.69-million-dot resolution, while the tilting LCD screen features a sharper 1.62-million-dot panel.
Other highlights include a UHS-II SD card slot, a long-lasting NP-FZ100 battery capable of capturing up to 630 shots on a single charge, USB-C connectivity, micro HDMI output, dedicated 3.5mm microphone and headphone ports, and support for live streaming in up to 4K at 30fps.
Sony RX10 V Targets Enthusiasts and Professionals
With its extensive zoom range, upgraded autofocus system, faster burst shooting, and enhanced video features, the Sony RX10 V offers a compelling all-in-one solution for photographers and content creators. While the camera’s India launch remains unconfirmed, its combination of premium hardware and versatile performance makes it one of the most capable bridge cameras currently available.
