New Delhi: Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has announced that The Bengal Files is finally set to release in West Bengal after a prolonged delay. The film, which originally released in September last year across India, had not been screened in the state until now.
The development comes after the results of the West Bengal Election 2026, following which the makers confirmed that The Bengal Files will now be released in theatres across West Bengal starting tomorrow.
The Bengal Files Set for West Bengal Release After Delay
According to the makers, The Bengal Files West Bengal release was previously stalled, with no theatres in the state screening the film despite its nationwide release. The film is now expected to reach audiences across multiple cities, including Kolkata, as part of its long-awaited release in the state.
Distributor Arijit Dutta stated that the film had earlier faced restrictions in West Bengal and described the situation as a “party diktat,” claiming that there was strong public interest in the film throughout this period.
