Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal will visit New Zealand on 5th November 2025 to engage with H.E. Mr. Todd McClay, Minister for Trade of New Zealand, as part of ongoing India–New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations. The visit underscores the commitment of both nations to accelerate the FTA process and foster a mutually beneficial economic partnership.
The 4th round of India–New Zealand FTA negotiations began in Auckland on 3rd November 2025, marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral trade and economic ties between the two countries.

During the visit, Shri Goyal will take part in several high-level engagements aimed at promoting trade, investment, and innovation linkages between India and New Zealand. These include interactions with leading members of the New Zealand business community and the Indian business delegation, facilitating stronger collaboration between the private sectors of both nations.
A New Zealand–India Business Forum will be organized in Auckland, followed by a community interaction event with the Indian diaspora, highlighting the growing people-to-people and business connections.
Additionally, a Fireside Chat between Shri Piyush Goyal and H.E. Mr. Todd McClay, moderated by Mr. Simon Bridges, CEO of the Auckland Business Chamber, will focus on enhancing trade cooperation, identifying new economic opportunities, and fostering collaboration in innovation, technology, and sustainable growth.
The engagements are expected to see participation from industry leaders, chambers of commerce, and government officials, reflecting the strengthening momentum in India–New Zealand bilateral relations and a shared vision for a future-oriented economic partnership.
